Heather Madison with the Peterson Company was awarded the Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber of Commerce’s 9th annual Young Professional of the Year award

Gaithersburg /Germantown, MD (December 16, 2021) – The Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber (GGCC) awarded Heather Madison, property manager with Peterson Company, as the recipient of the 9th Annual Young Professional of the Year Award (YPG) at the Chamber’s Annual Celebration Dinner & Awards Ceremony.

Heather Madison is a super star. We are so lucky to have her on our Board and in our Chamber,” said Marilyn Balcombe, GGCC President / CEO.

The Young Professional of the Year Award recognizes and celebrates the accomplishments of a highly motivated, emerging leader of the Chamber’s Young Professional’s group.

The past year and a half-challenged Madison’s commitment to her field in ways that she never imagined. With an ongoing pandemic, work in the retail field meant that she had an obligation to be on-site for those restaurants & essential businesses that remain opened. Madison thought of creative ways to support her tenants with curbside pickup, outdoor amenities, and focused on making her properties a safe and comfortable place for all.

Even today, she continues to face the ongoing challenges the pandemic places upon her and her team. She continues to work with multiple forces & inventive minds to bring in new businesses for patrons. They are rethinking the tenant mix at the shopping centers as vacancies become available and paying attention to the evolving community and demographics around them.

Leadership is a key component to what motivates her. She loves creating an exciting, positive atmosphere with her colleagues and community. She is also a GGCC board member, serving as the Vice Chair of Events.

Madison is a community builder. She loves to see families, couples, children make memories at the RIO. The RIO has partnerships with the City of Gaithersburg & Adventist HealthCare. Which made winning this award even more special, since Adventist HealthCare was the sponsor of the award, recognizing the importance of the emerging leaders in our community. Laura Volovski of Adventist HealthCare presented the award.

She continues to strive to make RIO & Milestone the premier shopping and dining destinations that they have grown to be.
